After taking over Malibu Pier early Friday evening for her summer 2027 presentation, Zegna brought the party to West Hollywood’s Bar Marmont for a post-show celebration lit up by a surprise performance by the Sparks.
A-list stars from the worlds of fashion, film, music and sports, including Rami Malek, Stellan Skarsgard, Paul Dano, Roman Coppola, Gael Garcia Bernal, Kevin Love, Ludwig Göransson and others, appeared in Zegna’s curated spectacle, which was designed to “blur the line between fashion show, cinema and cultural gathering.” To achieve this, Xenia enlisted Ron and Russell Mael and their band Sparks – on a night off from their international tour – to perform a rousing set that got the audience dancing.
Meanwhile, a large screen mounted against the backdrop of Bar Marmont reflected films by master auteurs such as Federico Fellini (La Dolce Vita, Amarcord, Rome), Luchino Visconti (Conversation piece), Michelangelo Antonioni (Lickless), Ettore Scola (Serafamo tanto amatI), Lena Wertmüller (Swept away), Franco Brusati (Dementicar Venice), Salvatore Samperi (Malaysia) And others.
The scenes shown were not accidental, as many of the moments influenced the creative choices of Zegna’s artistic director, Alessandro Sartori, while designing the collection, which the brand said was “shaped by the spirit of summer and Zegna’s constant dialogue between Italian craftsmanship and the world around us.” (See runway show photos here.)
Speaking of dialogue, Zegna wanted to focus on intimacy and staying in the moment, so no personal photography was allowed inside the party, which is rare for a gathering in Los Angeles.
