Inside the world of the iconic 'Scary Movie 6': Where was the new horror-comedy made?

Scary Movie 6 has officially been released in theaters, and fans can’t seem to control themselves. 13 years after the release of the last film, the creators of the series have come up with a new one.

Here’s everything you need to know about the movie, including where it was filmed in the first place.

CBS News Atlanta shared in a new report that the latest installment of the “Scary Movie” series was filmed primarily in Atlanta. Reportedly, the majority of the footage was filmed at Tyler Perry Studios, which is located on the Fort McPherson military base. Filming took place from October 1 to November 24 at the base.The studio where the film was shot has a spacious production space, along with two backroom areas, as well as a sound stage and interior rooms for feature film production as well.“Scary Movie 6” joins the long list of famous and blockbuster films that were also filmed in the same location. These also include “The Blind Side,” “Zombieland,” “Baby Driver,” “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” and “Spider-Man: Homecoming and No Way Home,” among many others.

This year’s horror-comedy release brings back some of the series’ regular stars to the big screen. The cast includes names like Marlon Wayans as Shorty Meeks/Joe/Tiffany/Count Prolock, Shawn Wayans as Ray Wilkins, Anna Faris as Cindy Campbell, Regina Hall as Brenda Meeks, and Damon Wayans Jr.

as Agent Underwood, Greg Wayans as Brad Meeks, Brenda’s son and Day’s twin, and Kim Wayans as Nurse Ratchet, along with many others.

The film highlights some of the most recent and iconic entries in the horror genre, which include “Get Out,” “M3GAN,” and “Longlegs,” to name a few. The franchise also introduces Tuesday, a direct parody of Jenna Ortega and Tim Burton’s popular character and OTT series, “Wednesday.”
