Martin Short is not a national treasure, the Canadian comedian and Hollywood star is an entire continental treasure.
Short is getting his flowers with a new Netflix documentary Marty, life is shortdirected by Lawrence Kasdan, writer and director The big cold, Wyatt Earp and Body temperature. Obviously, Kasdan is incredibly accomplished — he’s been nominated for four Oscars — but it’s also worth noting that he’s Jake Kasdan’s father (Walking Hard: The Dewey Cox Story And a group of television works.)
In addition to Lawrence Kasdan, Marty, life is short Produced by Sarah Bernstein, Meredith Culvers, Christopher St. John, Justin Wilkes and Blair Foster. It is executive produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard through Imagine Documentaries, an arm of Imagine Entertainment.

Of course, Short, who is 76 years old, has witnessed more than his fair share of personal tragedy. Short’s older brother died when Martin was twelve years old. It wasn’t long after that his parents died within two years of each other. Short’s wife, Nancy Dollman, died in 2010. She was 58, and their daughter, Katherine, died by suicide just a few months earlier. She was 42 years old.
Short and Dolman have adopted three children together.
