However, he said that he was really happy when Mammootty was announced as one of the winners.He said, “I feel proud and happy that I have been nominated for the award alongside Mammootty. When I learned that my name was also shortlisted, I was very nervous. I am happy that Malayalam cinema has once again received recognition from the National Film Awards. I am even happier that the award has gone to Mammootty.”
