'Kick me if necessary': Amit Behl slams insecure stars who interrupt co-actors' scenes, praises Hrithik Roshan's humility on the set of 'Lakshya'

The pain of cutting a scene from a movie is something most character actors know all too well. Actor Amit Behl, known for his roles in the film ‘Lakshya’ and TV show ‘Shanti’, has now spoken candidly about this reality and the rare stars who choose professionalism rather than insecurity. He spoke about Hrithik Roshan’s humility while working with him in ‘Lakshya’.

Amit Behl reveals when Hrithik Roshan asked him to kick if necessary

In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Amit Behl was not shy about admitting how common it is for lead stars to delete supporting actors’ scenes, or even mute their voices, simply out of insecurity. “It feels bad,” he said plainly. But amidst those difficult memories, Amit chose Lakshya as a bright exception. He revealed, “When I did Lakshya, Farhan (Akhtar) kept every shot he narrated to me.

There is an iconic scene in the film where I punish Hrithik Roshan and put him on an obstacle course. Hrithik told me: Sir, if necessary, kick me. I wear a body pillow, so don’t worry. Please kick me if you feel it’s needed because this scene is very important to the movie.

We did three takes of that shot, and Hrithik was covered in mud, but he still gave me that space.

Amit Behl pointed out that what made the experience even more wonderful was the status that both Hrithik and Farhan already enjoyed at that time. He said, “Hrithik was already a big star after Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai, and Farhan was a popular director after Dil Chahta Hai, yet they kept all my scenes and never deleted me. So there are good memories too. Earlier, there were many instances when our scenes were cut. Now they don’t dare to do it much, because if the film doesn’t work, how will anyone still be a star?”
