In recent years, the Grammy winner has created a cinematic universe with videos for her hit songs, from “Espresso” and “Please Please Please” with Dolly Parton to her recently released “House Tour.”

It’s Sabrina Carpenter’s world and we all live in it.
You can tell that the pop star started her acting career because one thing about her is that she will deliver absolute cinema when it comes to her music videos. And the Coachella headliner also seems to like the story, because her videos released in recent years are all connected in one way or another, from her single “Espresso,” released in April 2024, to the music video she just released for “House Tour.”
In addition to the videos’ creative connection, fans have also pointed out another interesting pattern in most of her videos: at least one man always seems to die. The trend started with the 2023 music video for “Feather” and has been a recurring theme ever since.

“Espresso”

Image credit: Screenshot/YouTube It appears that Carpenter is starting to connect her music video storylines to her 2024 hit “Espresso,” the song that launched her into international pop stardom.
At the end of the video for the track, which features a retro-themed summer beach day, Carpenter is arrested after hijacking a man’s boat and taking his credit card.
Will Carpenter go to jail? You’ll have to keep reading to find out.
“Please please please”

Image credit: Screenshot/YouTube After her arrest, Carpenter landed herself in prison, as seen at the beginning of the “Please Please Please” music video. But she did not remain behind bars for long, but was quickly rescued. When she next picks up her belongings, the black sunglasses she wears in the “Espresso” video appear to also be in the bag.
In the video for “Please Please Please”, Carpenter teases a romance with another criminal played by her then-boyfriend, actor Barry Keoghan. The video features a “Bonnie and Clyde” narrative style, and follows Carpenter as she picks up her evil partner from prison after he continues to be arrested for his various criminal acts.
Eventually, Carpenter was seen taking control, handcuffing Keoghan to a chair and duct-taping his mouth shut. But before she leaves him there, she leaves him with one last kiss.
Cause of death: Carpenter returns to her murderous ways in this video, but asks Keoghan to do her dirty work. He appears to kill a man while robbing a bank.
“taste”

Image credit: Screenshot/YouTube It must have been a memorable kiss in the “Please Please Please” music video, because in the following video for “Taste,” Carpenter appears to have kept the piece of lipstick-colored tape as a souvenir.
At the beginning of the video, a whole collection of weapons is shown scattered on her bed. Among them is a pink teddy bear with tape covering its mouth, similar to Keoghan.
Carpenter doesn’t have time to reminisce, as she has other business to attend to. In the video, she is seen fighting with another woman, played by Jenna Ortega, over their shared love interest. The video features comedic and gory violence, and pays homage to the 1992 film. Death becomes herswhere the two women eventually realize that the man is not worth fighting for, and decide to join forces.
But don’t worry, Carpenter hasn’t forgotten Keoghan.
Cause of death: Ortega accidentally dismembers their mutual lover with a chainsaw, thinking he is Carpenter, and he collapses into the swimming pool and dies.
“Please please please” offered Dolly Parton

Image credit: Screenshot/YouTube Carpenter enlisted the help of Dolly Parton in the music video for her re-recorded version of her hit song “Please Please Please”.
In the footage, the two women appear on the road together in a pickup truck. However, it’s not just a road trip. At the end of the video, it is revealed that the man – who is wearing the same clothes as Keoghan in the original Please Please Please – is tied up in the bed of the truck with a bag over his head.
At one point, a police car with lights on appears behind Carpenter and Barton’s truck, but they are relieved when they realize that the officer is not following them. So they happily continue their journey, but their smiles and laughter will not last forever.
“Manchild”

Image credit: Screenshot/YouTube The friendship seems to fizzle out at the beginning of “Manchild,” as the music video begins with Carpenter being thrown out of a car as he heads down a long stretch of road.
After the singer collects herself, the video depicts a satirical road trip that sees Carpenter traveling through the American West and encountering several childish and incompetent men whom she considers “children of men” (see main title, wink wink).
At the end of the video, she is seen jumping into a final vehicle that takes off into the distance. We hope that whoever is at the wheel is a safe driver.
Cause of death: Almost all of the “Children of Men” in the music video met a brutal end, from one sending his car off a cliff to another truck exploding, to Carpenter shooting up another car.
“tears”

Image credit: Screenshot/YouTube Tragically, the trip was cut short when Carpenter’s music video for “Tears” began with a car wreck. Fortunately, Carpenter survived the accident.
After waking up and gathering herself, she found an old house in the forest. Once Carpenter enters, you realize it’s a haunted house and campground and it’s a cinematic tribute to him. Rocky Horror Picture Show. Colman Domingo, who dresses in drag, also stars in the video as a character inspired by Frank-N-Furter.
At the end of “Tears,” when Carpenter realizes that the man driving the car also survived the wreck at the beginning, she refers to her long-standing pattern of killing men, saying, “Wait, no. I died too early, I guess.” The man replied, “Honey, what are you talking about?” Carpenter also responded: “It’s a thing. Someone has to die in every video. I’m sorry. We’ll always remember you though.”
That’s when Carpenter slips off her white stiletto heel and throws it at the man, piercing him through the heart and killing him.
Cause of death: A man was stabbed to death with the heel of a stiletto.
“House tour”

Image credit: Screenshot/YouTube I hope you didn’t forget the white heels because in the new “House Tour” video, Carpenter first gets out of the car wearing blood-stained shoes.
But she quickly disposes of any evidence, and wears a new pair of red pumps for the rest of the video. Also starring Margaret Qualley (who co-directed the music video with Carpenter) and Madeline Klein, the video is inspired by Bling ring It sees the trio, disguised as the “Pretty Girl Cleaning Crew”, robbing and ransacking a Hollywood mansion.
The girls seem to escape just before the cops arrive, but on their way out, Carpenter doesn’t forget to run over a man with their pink truck while they’re escaping.
All you have to do is stay tuned to see what Carpenter does in her upcoming music video.
