Girls fighting? maybe?
Sydney Sweeney’s clothing line is SYRN. And its latest lingerie promotions It seems Like a shot across Taylor Swift’s bow.
Many people reference Swift’s songs.
But when your friend is Swift’s number one enemy in the world, at least in the minds of Swifties, people take notice.

“But daddy, I love him.”
Using her Instagram Story, Sweeney shows off SYRN’s new lingerie line.
The photo shows an unmistakable pair of underwear, soft pastel colors and even with a very small bow.
Embroidered on the fabric with pink thread are the words: “But, Daddy, I love him.”
Sweeney included the same text on the screen, also in pink font.
“A package of lingerie with some of my little sayings in it. Hehehe,” she wrote alongside SYRN’s teaser.
Could Sydney Sweeney’s lingerie teaser be a dig at another famous blonde…or maybe just bait for her fans?

Is this Sweeney’s “little saying”? maybe.
However, “But Daddy I Love Him” is one of the songs on Taylor Swift’s 2024 album, Section of tortured poets.
This may be a coincidence, or some might argue, out of respect or reverence. Swift was certainly not the first to speak or write this specific phrase.
But Sweeney, for reasons known only to her, is dating controversial music mogul Scooter Braun.
In case you missed it, Swift and Braun have been stuck in a very public feud since 2019.
What’s wrong with Brown again?
In 2019, Brown bought out Swift Masters, feeling the wrath of Swifties around the world.
There are other reasons to hate the man (and things to be said in his favor — for one thing, he’s arguably the reason Justin Bieber is still alive after the singer broke up almost a decade ago), but for Swift, it’s about buying out her music rights before she had the chance to.
Do you know the “Taylor version” versions of her classic songs? Yes, that’s part of the repercussions of that.
Swifties on social media called out Sweeney for her “audacity” in taking this shot across Swift’s bow.
A number of them have suggested that Swift (who had a reputation for litigation) should sue Sweeney.

Others felt that “But Daddy I Love Him” is not only not an original phrase by Swift, but that she is not even the first to use it in a work of art.
For example, Little mermaid — which was released just weeks before Swift gave birth — features exactly that line.
Now, the legality of the use of the line doesn’t really address whether this is a direct and intentional reference to Swift.
If it was a criticism, it was subtle.
Many believe it wasn’t really directed at Swift at all. Instead, SYRN made headlines and attracted attention, in part because of Swifties and their anger.
If that was the plan…it worked.
