Last year, Ray J made wild and defamatory allegations against two Kardashians.
Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian sued him, and the rapper filed a lawsuit.
He says the two have been abusing him for years over the release of Kim’s sex tape. He also accused them of perjury regarding the publication of the tape.
It turned out to be this He was It’s a settled matter — because all parties involved have signed a $6 million settlement in 2023.

This was a settled matter…until it wasn’t
In April 2023, Kim and Ray J reached and signed a secret settlement.
Kris Jenner shared. So was Sonya Norwood, Ray J’s mother.
TMZ I obtained a copy of the Confidential Settlement Agreement and Mutual General Release.
“The parties agree to enter into this agreement to address all past, present and future claims, disputes, causes of action, defenses and alleged losses,” the agreement reads.
“Including, without limitation, all claims and defenses arising out of or relating to the subject matter of the sex tape,” the agreement continues.

Within the document, Ray J agrees not to hold Hulu or Disney responsible for anything that happens Kardashians.
Interestingly, another clause states that neither party may “disparage or impugn the character, reputation, integrity, honesty, business or business practices” of the other party.
This is strange, because just under two and a half years after that, Ray J made wild and unsubstantiated allegations against Kim and Kris.
Announcing to the world that people are under federal investigation or are master criminals is grounds for a defamation lawsuit in many circumstances.
But this document indicates that Ray J has already agreed in writing not to disparage Kim… only to do so with a defamatory allegation.

Who is right? This is kinda complicated
Ray J mentioned this agreement. He brought the matter up in the counterclaim to their defamation lawsuit.
He said he received $6 million as part of the deal.
He said there would be financial penalties if he violated the agreement, as well as if Kim or Kris did so.
This is where the legal question comes into play: He says they didn’t break it, they did.
Ray J says so Kardashians It included discussing the sex tape just one month after the deal was completed.

we He hates Just shrug your shoulders and say that’s up to the lawyers and the courts. It’s always fun to be able to predict the outcome of a legal battle.
However, in this case, there are many details and legal issues at play.
For example, does Ray J say that the Hulu series broadcast An episode on the topic of the sex tape just one month after the agreement was signed?
Because we hope most People know about reality TV movies months before they air. Kardashians It has a faster turnaround than most, but not by much. Many offers depict 8 months to a year in advance.
If he says they are It was filmed Episode immediately afterward, he might have had a much stronger argument.

Where is the popular sympathy?
It is often difficult to gauge where public sympathy lies.
Often times, people make fun of Kim’s suffering, even when very bad things happen to her — like the Paris robbery or Kanye West’s Hitler fan-fest era.
(She’s generally not a very sympathetic person, whether she’s saying harsh things, repeating harmful misinformation, or promoting sloppy technology.)
But there are cases when many people feel sorry for her. This – the sex tape and how this story won’t go away – seems to be one of them.
The case could change opinions about Kim. But we kind of doubt it.
