We have some tragic news to report from the world of reality TV.
Misua, a famous drag performer who is in relationships with RuPaul’s Drag Race The franchise, has passed away.
She was only 27 years old.
Misua was filming the fourth season of Drag Race Philippines When she died.
News of her death comes thanks to an Instagram post from the show’s official Instagram page.
“We are deeply saddened to announce that Misua, the talented queen who was scheduled to appear on Season 4 of Drag Race Philippines, passed away in her sleep on the morning of April 2,” the statement read.
She brought light, art, and joy to those around her, and she will be greatly missed.
“We have paused production to care and support our cast and crew during this extremely difficult time. Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and everyone who loved her,” the post continues, before concluding:
“We are in contact with her family who have requested privacy during this difficult time.”
Many members Drag racing The community praised Misua in the comments:
“It’s so heartbreaking! My thoughts are with Filo’s family. I love you all and sending my love! She was an absolute star!” Hannah Konda of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under wrote.
“Devastated! Sending all my love to everyone involved,” Blue Hydrangea added to the RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs. World winner.
Outside of the drag community, Misua was known as Jason Elvy Tai. Her family honored her memory in their social media posts:
“Jason was our beloved son, brother, friend, teacher, and most of all, Jason is a star. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and close friends,” the family wrote.
The cause of death has not been revealed at this stage.
Unfortunately, Misua is not the first member of Drag racing A family death in recent months.
