Now there’s an answer, as a new trailer reveals that the film centers on a family grieving the disappearance of their daughter eight years ago in Cairo. Suddenly, they receive a call from officials revealing that they have found her…but this is different.
“It is very important that you prepare yourself fully for what you are about to see,” the doctor tells the parents before they are reunited. “No sudden movements. No loud noises.”
It turns out that Katie has spent the past eight years in a 3,000-year-old coffin and has turned into a living, mummy-like creature. She once said: “Don’t worry, Grandma, it’s fun to die.”
Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, Mae Calamawy, Natalie Grace and Veronica Falcone star in the New Line film, which Cronin wrote and directed.
Cronin revived evil dead Franchise with Rising Evil Deadwhich grossed 147 million worldwide in 2023. He burst onto the scene with the 2019 film The hole in the groundwhich bowed at Sundance.
