It’s been almost a year since Glenn Gaynor left his position as Head of Physical Production at Amazon Original Movies to launch the globally focused Hollywood Ventures Group (HVG), a diversified film production and consulting group designed to meet the current moment in global filmmaking. The company is now making moves with Thirteenth Studios and Platinum Universe.
HVG and Thirteenth Studios have formed an exclusive partnership, unveiled Tuesday in Cannes, to develop and expand the Platinum Universe library, described as the world’s largest independent comic book and genre IP library with more than 1,300 characters and properties spanning sci-fi, action, fantasy, horror and other genres. According to the partners, the collaboration will focus on “the long-term revitalization and expansion of the Platinum universe across film, television, animation, gaming, publishing, and emerging media platforms. Although specific projects have not been revealed yet, preliminary conversations are currently underway with other talent, studio, and partners and news is expected to emerge in the coming months.”
The agreement is led by Gainor and the HVG team including Chairman and Co-Founder Sandy Kleiman and Executive Vice President Nelly Kim, in collaboration with Joe Smith’s Thirteenth Studios. Ray Ellingsen of Moving Pictures Media Group represents Platinum Universe.

Through Platinum and Malibu Comics, Rosenberg is credited with shepherding the profitable stuff Men in black Franchise of Sony Pictures. His Malibu Comics company is home to Ultraverse, Youngblood and Men in black It manages a library that includes features and modifications such as Cowboys and Aliens And the acclaimed Rob Liefeld Youngblood and Supreme.
