Henry Cavill gives a first look at his upcoming film Highlander.
At CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Amazon MGM Studios premiered footage of Banner United Artists director Chad Stahelski’s film set to hit theaters. Cavill leads a cast that also includes Russell Crowe, Dave Bautista, Siobhan Cullen, Marisa Abella, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Drew McIntyre, Max Chang, and Jeremy Irons.
Cavill introduced the first footage in a video: “We’re only halfway through production but we already feel like we’re making something really special.”
The footage includes Cavill declaring: “I am Connor MacLeod, born in 1518, and I am immortal.”
Later, Bautista’s character warns Cavill: “When my sword changes history, you’ll have a front-row seat, Highlander.” This leads Cavill to respond: “Okay, if you say so.”
The footage ended with a montage of different characters promising, “There can only be one.”
Highlander The film revolves around Connor MacLeod (Caville), a 16th-century Scottish warrior who learns of his immortality and is destined to fight others like him.
Stahelski (John Wick) The film is directed from a screenplay by Kerry Williamson and Mike Finch. The project is a reboot of the original 1986 fantasy film of the same name that starred Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery and co-produced the show in the 1990s. Highlander: The Series.
CinemaCon is the annual event for Hollywood exhibitors and studios that takes place this year from April 13-16. It’s the official convention of Cinema United.
