Hawkeye leader Denis LeCurier has died at the age of 76 after a long battle with kidney disease

Dennis LeCorriere, the iconic voice of the band Dr. Hook, passed away at the age of 76 on Saturday, May 16, 2026. After a long and courageous battle with kidney disease, the musician took his last breath while surrounded by his beloved family and friends.

Official statement on the death of Denis LeCurier

Locoreri used to perform alongside Ray Sawyer, who passed away in 2019. “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis Locoreri, who, after a long and courageous battle with kidney disease, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on May 16, 2026,” the department released an official statement on its website. They added that the late singer fought his illness with remarkable strength, dignity, and resilience throughout.

He thanked fans for their support and asked for privacy from the public during the mourning period. The statement said: “We will remember him for his warmth, love, and lasting influence on those around him.”

About Denis LeCurier

Dennis Michael Le Corriere was born on June 13, 1949 in New Jersey and lived in the United Kingdom for 24 years. He was part of the band Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show until 1975. Locorrier devoted over six decades to music, releasing 18 albums in total as part of his solo career as well as the band.

Not only has he been on record breaking charts, but he has also collaborated with numerous artists, leaving an indelible mark on the music industry.
