Scarlett Moffat has been eliminated from I’m a Celebrity… South Africa, just one day before the series finale. The “Gogglebox” star, who was crowned Queen of the Jungle in the 2016 original series, finished last in a deciding trial and was sent home as the last girl competing in the competition.“I felt like I was so close. I was the last girl standing,” she told hosts Ant and Dec on her way out.
The challenge requires celebrities to count colorful balls as they roll them down a tube while bathed in maggots, cockroaches, cockroaches and mealworms. The five contestants were then asked how many blue balls there were, with anyone who was furthest from the correct number facing elimination. Moffat’s answer proved to be the least accurate, and she ended her competing career.Thursday night’s episode also saw celebrities taking part in the Hurricane Challenge, which required them to climb along a water slide to reach the stars while being pelted with huge balls and sprayed with high-pressure hoses. The group won the task, resulting in them all receiving phone messages from loved ones back home. They also enjoyed a breakfast of 10 eggs among themselves after successfully poaching them from a large “chicken” perched in a tree above their camp.
What Scarlett Moffat said on her way out
Reflecting on her time in camp, Moffat admitted the South African team had proven more challenging than their triumphant stint in 2016. “Just the trials,” she said with characteristic humour. “Who comes up with those? It’s sick.” When asked why she was returning, she said: “This show honestly means everything to us.”Despite the difficulty, she added, “I really had the best time.” When asked about her campmates, she said: “We’re all as grumpy as a box of frogs, aren’t we? I feel like everyone’s weirdly cool.”When asked who she would like to win, she was clear. “Please Mo. He’s the most amazing human being. There’s not a bad bone in his body.”She also took some time to address hosts Ant and Dec directly. “I feel older. I watched you two on SMTV Live, and hearing your accent made me feel like, if I wanted to do it, I could, because of you. It means a lot.”
Who is left in the competition?
Moffat’s exit brings a men’s final to a finale, with Olympian Sir Mo Farah, football manager Harry Redknapp, actor and DJ Craig Charles and actor Adam Thomas now competing for the title of ‘Absolute Legend 2026’.The final episode of I’m a Celebrity… South Africa airs from 7.30pm on Friday on ITV1.
