Hansal Mehta announces new films, including 'Porbandar' and Ranveer Singh's 'Pralay' - Reports

Director Hansal Mehta and producer Sahil Sehgal unveil an ambitious slate, which includes Ranveer Singh’s post-apocalyptic thriller ‘Pralay’ and Mehta’s action film ‘Porbandar’. The company is also backing Ajitpal Singh’s ‘Kehar Singh’, a cannibal horror project titled ‘Mehfooz’, and regional films, along with the Hindi language debut of Lijo Jose Pellissery with music by AR Rahman.

Hansal Mehta and producer Sahil Saigal are expanding their slate with a mix of big Hindi films, regional cinema and series. The company has now unveiled several new titles, including Mehta’s action film ‘Porbandar’, Ajitpal Singh’s upcoming film ‘Kehar Singh’, and cannibal horror project ‘Mehfooz’.

She also shared new details about ‘Pralay’, the Ranveer Singh-led post-apocalyptic thriller which is now in active pre-production.

Hansal Mehta work list update

According to Variety, the company, which was launched by Mehta and Sehgal in January 2025, is moving forward with a wide assortment across genres and languages. Among the biggest titles is “Pralay”, directed by Jay Mehta and starring Ranveer Singh. The film is jointly produced by Banner Singh. Hansal Mehta described the scale of the film in clear terms, saying, “It is the kind of film that India has not made yet, the kind of film that India has never seen before.”

He also said that an international crew has joined the project, and filming is expected to begin later this year.

Ranveer Singh’s Pralay and new movies revealed

The new line-up also includes ‘Porbandar’, which will be directed by Hansal Mehta himself. The film is named after the Gujarati port city associated with Mahatma Gandhi, but Mehta said the project takes a completely different path. “On one side you have the Mahatma of Porbandar, and on the other side you have this actor,” he said.

The studio’s deal for the film is about to expire.Another new title is ‘Kehar Singh’ directed by Ajitpal Singh from the movie ‘Fire in the Mountains’. The company described it as an amazing film, although more details will come later. Then there’s “Saved,” a cannibal horror project that’s finished development and already has a studio attached, but is still searching for a director. Explaining the company’s approach, Mehta said: “We invest money in developing the film, prepare it completely before we show it to the studio, and then appoint a director.

The company is also producing “Dilkashi” in association with Amazon MGM Studios. Directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, it marks his debut in Hindi and features songs by AR Rahman. In regional cinema, the company is backing the Gujarati film ‘Sardar Asardar’ and the independent Punjabi film ‘Hanere de Panchi’. On the series side, she co-produced the Netflix series “Family Business” and is developing another show.
