This was supported by high grosses throughout its run thus far, with the play having grossed $1.2 million as of the week of May 10, with the theater running near maximum capacity each week.
This is the last match to be made up in the 2025-26 season, after the one led by Daniel Radcliffe. Everything is great, Waiting for GodotWith Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter and artWith Neil Patrick Harris, Bobby Cannavale and James Corden.
The play, written by Mark Rosenblatt and directed by Nicholas Hytner, began performances at the Music Box Theater on March 11.
Lithgow portrays children’s author Roald Dahl, as an executive from his publishing house comes to his house to try to get him to apologize for reviewing a book he wrote critical of Israel, after the country’s blockade of Lebanon.

The cast also includes Rachel Stirling, Stella Everett and David Maness. The film is produced by Brian and Dayna Lee, Stephanie Kramer, Nicole Kramer, Josh Fidler, Robin Goodman and the Royal Court Theatre.
