My generation
Ghilli, directed by Dharani, was the first time Vijay and Trisha appeared together on screen, and the film became instantly iconic. Vijay, who plays Velu, risks everything to protect Trisha’s character Dhanalakshmi from the terrifying Muthu Pandey, played by Prakash Raj. Beyond the excitement and drama, it was their easy bonding that stood out, especially in the evergreen song ‘APadi Podu’. The film was recently re-released in theaters for the second time on February 20, 2026. It was originally released in 2004 and was first re-released in 2024.

Thiruppachi
In Perarasu’s Thirupaachi, Vijay plays Siva, a fiercely loyal village man, while Trisha plays Subha, his lover. Their light banter and warmth added charm to a film driven largely by intense familial sentiment and vigilante justice. The romance provided a soft counterpoint to the film’s aggressive tone.

Athi
‘Aathi’ was not a commercial success, but the film cemented Vijay and Trisha’s popularity as a popular on-screen pair. Like Athi and Anjali, the two shared tender romantic moments and emotionally charged scenes that resonated with audiences. Their chemistry once again reminded fans why they are considered one of Tamil cinema’s most reliable and charismatic groups.

Korovy
Reuniting with Dharani for ‘Kuruvi’, Vijay once again played a character named Velu, this time a fearless car racer turned messenger – while Trisha portrayed the role of Devi. Although the film did not reach the level of “Ghilli”, fans appreciated the duo’s playful chemistry and lively conversations, which became some of the most talked about moments of the film.

Leo
After a long gap of 14 years, Vijay and Trisha have come together again in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film ‘Leo’. Their pairing seemed more restrained and mature this time around, and fit seamlessly into the film’s dark, high-stakes storyline. The simple romance added emotional depth and was widely praised by audiences and critics.

Greatest of All Time (GOAT)
Trisha made a special appearance in Vijay’s film ‘The Greatest Of All Time’, popularly known as GOAT, during the peppy song ‘Matta’. The number was a nostalgic tribute to their legendary pairing, recreating familiar dance moves and celebrating the legacy they built together, much to the delight of longtime fans.
