Gary Lineker’s Goalhanger Launches ‘The Accelerator’ Content Creation Fund Initiative (Exclusive)

Goalhanger, Gary Lineker’s podcast and media production giant, is launching a pioneering initiative in collaboration with the UK’s best content creators.

The Accelerator will support digital creators in the fields of entertainment, sports, politics, science, technology and finance. “Designed as a three-month, high-impact creative incubator, providing investment, training, mentorship and access to Goalhanger’s senior editorial, creative and business leadership – alongside established on-air talent,” the company says. Participants will be selected by a selection committee consisting of senior Goalhanger leaders along with experienced executives from across the global media and cultural industries. The external panel provides expertise including commissioning, talent development, platform strategy and commercial growth, with backgrounds across Spotify, Sony Music, YouTube, Web Summit, WME and others. Members of this committee include Alex Bewley, Alex Addy, Alex Mahon, Damaris Rex Taylor, Julia Erens and Connor Galvin.

Each creator will receive up to £10,000 ($13,400) in content investment to raise production standards and experiment with short-form storytelling across their social media platforms.

This program gives them the time, expertise and a real path to think bigger and build something lasting.”

Applicants must already be active on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and/or Facebook, with a strong and engaged audience. They must be based in the UK, eligible to work, and willing to “stretching their creativity into something more ambitious”.

It’s been a record year for Goalhanger. In 2025 alone, the company generated more than 750 million views and live streams of full episodes across its network of 15 shows, including hit shows The rest is politics, The rest is football, The rest is historyand The rest is entertainment.
