Fanatics Sportsbook launches narrated animated series Saturday Night Live Star Cam Patterson… based on actual bets made by customers on her platform.
The series has five episodes called The bets are sketchyand will stream live on Fanatics Sportsbook’s social feeds starting Thursday.
The series uses hand-drawn kitsch-style animation to tell comedic stories, which are based on actual wins, losses and other unusual bets made on its platform. The goal was to take conversations about bets that would normally take place in group chats or small talk in bars and create a social video series out of them.
“Sports betting gives you stories you can’t make up,” Patterson says. “The bet that didn’t work out but somehow did. Your latest heartbreak isn’t over yet. We’ve taken real bets from Fanatics Sportsbook customers and turned them into an animated show, narrated by me! If you’ve put a lot of effort into a bet, this bet will come back to you.”
Patterson joined the cast SNL Last season as a featured player, he was a regular presence on Weekend Update. He was a stand-up comedian, who first gained national attention for his appearances on Channel Kill Tony Podcast hosted by Tony Hinchcliffe.
Patterson joins a crowded list of SNL Stars are using the off-season to launch other comedies. Marcelo Hernandez will host ESPN’s ESPYs next month, while Kenan Thompson just published a children’s book. The high profile of the show means that the talent on the show is often in great demand for other projects.
