‘Facts of Life’ star Mindy Cohen reveals cancer diagnosis

Mindy Cohen, best known for her role as Natalie on the 1980s sitcom facts of life, On Sunday, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer for the second time.

The actress posted on Instagram a photo of herself lying in a hospital bed with the caption: “I stayed away from social media for a while because I had to get rid of cancer.”

In the photo, Cohen appears smiling and giving a thumbs up. In her post, she thanked the staff at Providence St. John’s Hospital, located in Santa Monica, and the “exceptional” oncology surgeon, Dr. Anton Bilcik.

She also thanked close friends including Morning show Actress Tara Karsian and Rising Star Gregory Zarian with husband Jon Stewart.

They “were my advocates and were always willing to help me when it was ‘my turn’. They would recover for another two weeks and then get ready for my next adventure. Onward! Cancer be damned!” She finished the post.

This is the second time Cohn has battled cancer. In 2017, she revealed that she had fought a five-year battle with breast cancer.

“I kept this secret for a long time,” she said. the people at that time. “I had always been an optimist, but the cancer spread. It kept spreading and coming back. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, and then it would fall. And then I kept waiting for another shoe to drop, and it would fall. I felt frustrated and angry. I couldn’t control any of this. I couldn’t fix it.”

Cohn was one of the stars Facts of life throughout the entire nine seasons from 1979 to 1988. Most recently, she co-starred opposite Kristen Wiig on Apple TV+ Palm Royale.

Cohn received an outpouring of well-wishes from famous faces in the comments section of her most recent post, including Sarah Paulson, who wrote, “Sending love…your way.” Rhea Seehorn wrote: “Mindy!!!! Fuck this bullshit!!! Sending you love and healing to the moon and back!”

Other well-wishers included Octavia Spencer, Chelsea Handler, Vicki Lawrence, Helen Hunt, Lucy Hale, Daphne Zuniga, Peri Gilpin, Johnny Weir and Holly Pitt.
