Rising country star Ella Langley played “Be Her” during her performance at the ACM Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday night.
Langley sang the song while wearing a white dress with crystal neck and waist, sitting on a chair playing the guitar accompanied by two other guitarists. A few moments later, she was named Best Female Artist, beating out the likes of Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert (with whom she co-wrote “Choosin’ Texas”), Megan Morrone, and Lainey Wilson. During her speech for that award, she was so overcome with emotion that she had difficulty starting to speak. She praised her fellow nominees and family for being “weird as always; she keeps me humble” and “women, I wouldn’t be standing here without that, so thank you.”
Langley entered this year’s ACMs tied with Lainey Wilson as the third-most nominated act of the evening, earning seven nominations overall. Her hit song “Choosin’ Texas” entered the show with two nominations, for Song of the Year and Song of the Year.
In all, Langley took home five ACM Awards, also including Song of the Year and Song of the Year for “Choosin’ Texas.” She was also named Artist/Songwriter of the Year and scored another win for her appearance on Riley Greene’s “Don’t Mind If I Do,” the music event of the year.
Langley debuted in 2024 with her hit song “You Look Like You Love Me,” which won the ACM Award for Single of the Year. She has since become one of the fastest rising artists of any genre with “Choosin’ Texas” arguably the biggest song of the year, having spent nine consecutive weeks atop the Hot 100. Her second album, dandelion, It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart last month.
In addition to Langley, Sunday’s performers include Wilson, Lambert, Zack Tubb, Carter Faith, Blake Shelton and more. Kacey Musgraves, who has released her seventh studio album In the middle of nowhere Earlier this month, She made her ACM performance debut as well on Sunday.
Shania Twain serves as host at this year’s ACMs.
