Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is known for his looks, big screen acting prowess, and bodybuilding. However, besides that, he is also known for the ink he has managed to cover his body with over the years.
In a recent social media post, the popular “Jumanji” actor posted an old photo of one of his shoulder tattoos, recalling the experience and revealing that it took a lot of time and effort to get it done.

“Art that lasts forever,” the famous actor reminisced about his beloved shoulder tattoo in a recent post. Recalling getting the ‘tattoo’, a sacred Polynesian tradition of tattooing, the star spoke about how each line means and represents something to him.He further added: “Each symbol, each sign, tells a deeply personal story that reflects my gratitude for my ancestors and my life’s past, my inspiring hope for life’s future, and the most important part of my life story – to live fully present, in the here and now.”
Dwayne Johnson reveals the tattoo took 60 hours
In the post, he also talked about how long it took for the tattoo itself to come to fruition. He revealed that he talked to the tattoo artist for a very long time about the tattoo before they decided to do something about it.
He added, “My tattoo artist and I talked for hours, we definitely drank kava 😉, and we definitely prayed~ and then we got to work. 3 sessions total. Over 60 hours. My tattoo was complete.” He also added: “All love and respect to Mr. Frederic “Bueno” Yorondi, who is exceptionally talented, and whose artistic skills are reflected in tattoos that, two decades later, still embody our culture, heritage and stories that helped shape who I am, and which I will carry with pride forever.
