Director RS Durai Senthilkumar talks about his previous filmmaking choices. He admits that the screenplay adaptations of ‘Kaaki Sattai’, ‘Kodi’ and ‘Pattaas’ did not satisfy him. He is now focusing on his next film, “The Leader”. The film starring Legend Saravanan is all set to release. Fans are anticipating the director’s new offering.
Director RS Durai Senthilkumar is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film ‘Leader’ starring the legendary Saravanan in the lead role. The film hits theaters worldwide on April 3 and has already created a huge buzz among audiences.
Recently, the launch of the music and action teaser of the film was held grandly in Chennai, in the presence of many personalities of the film and fans.
While promoting the film, Durai Senthilkumar spoke candidly about his journey in filmmaking and reflected on some of the mistakes he feels he made in his previous films.
The director admits creative regret in ‘Kaki satay ‘
Speaking about his previous works, Durai Senthilkumar candidly admitted that he has some regrets about some creative decisions. While discussing Kaaki Sattai, according to Movies Tamil, he explained that the script was initially written as a serious film. However, things changed later when the film was made with Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role. “When I wrote the film for Dhanush sir, it was serious. But after he went to Sivakarthikeyan sir, we added the character of Manobala sir.
“I am not happy with this decision,” he said and added that many people suggested presenting Sivakarthikeyan in a more entertaining style after the success of ‘Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam’, which influenced the script change.
The director reflects on the mistakes in “Kodi”Patas And “Garodin”
Durai Senthilkumar also spoke about his experience working on the Kodi film starring Dhanush. He admitted that he could have written the climax better. “I thought I could work on the climax after the initial shoot, but we finished the double action scenes quickly.
“Dhanush sir was available and wanted to complete the film,” he said. The director added that the mistake was not on the actor’s part. He also reflected this on his later films.
“With ‘Paatas’, the commercial track and some changes in the script were things that I feel could have been avoided,” he said. Speaking about ‘Garudan’, he stated that the film had to be completed within 70 days, which left little time for corrections, though he is still happy with the final result.
‘Leader’ is creating new buzz ahead of its theatrical release
As Durai Senthilkumar looks forward, his focus now is on ‘Leader’, which marks an important project in his career. The film has already generated interest with its action-packed teaser and music launch event. With the legendary Saravanan in the lead role, the film promises to be a commercial entertainer packed with action and drama. Sham, Andrea, Santhosh Pratap, Payal Rajput, Lal, Prabharan, Amirtha Iyer and VTV Ganesh play lead roles, while the film has music composed by D Imman.
