Mohanlal’s ‘Drishyam 3’ continues its successful theatrical run despite a drop in collections after a strong weekend. The crime thriller is still drawing viewers to theaters nearly three weeks after its release.According to Sakneelak, the film collected a net collection of Rs 40 lakh in India on the 20th. This figure represents a 20 percent drop from the net Rs 50 lakh collected the previous day.
‘The global collection of Drishyam 3 reaches Rs 236.11 crore
The film’s worldwide gross collection now stands at Rs 236.11 crore. In India, the film has grossed Rs 107.33 crore nett so far. Its total domestic collection reached Rs 124.51 crore. On the 20th day, the film added Rs 5 lakh from international regions. This took the total external collection to Rs 111.60 crore.The Malayalam version remained the primary contributor to the film’s collections on the 20th. Of the total earnings, the Malayalam version netted Rs 39 lakh. The Telugu version has added a net worth of Rs 1 lakh. The film was shown in 698 shows on Tuesday. The Malayalam version recorded an overall occupancy of 11.15 percent.Kerala continued to control state film sets. On the 20th, the state contributed a total of Rs 43 lakh out of the total collection of Rs 46 lakh.
Jeethu Joseph explains the new plans
Director Jeethu Joseph recently spoke about the future of Drishyam 3 in other languages. During an interview with Club FM, he revealed that the film is currently being adapted in Hindi only.He said, “At the moment, Drishyam 3 is being developed only in Hindi. It seems that the climax that we originally envisioned does not match the expectations of audiences in some other industries. The Indian team felt that the ending might be difficult, especially considering the image of their leading stars.”Jeethu Joseph further explained that the Hindi filmmakers consulted him before making any changes to the story.He added, “Although they were free to make changes after obtaining the remake rights, they reached out to us before doing so. They explained that the original ending might not work as effectively for their audience and that they were considering a different direction for the finale.”The director said in his response: “They asked for my opinion on those amendments, and I gave them my approval.
