Dharma Productions has revived ‘Dostana 2’ with Saini Shetty as the new heroine, echoing Priyanka Chopra’s beauty queen legacy. The Prime Video rom-com, directed by Advait Chandan, features a refreshing script about siblings in the chaos of love.
The makers are gearing up to revive their much-loved franchise with ‘Dostana 2’, and the film has now found its leading lady. According to reports, former beauty queen titleholder Saini Shetty is set to headline the romantic comedy alongside Lakshya and Vikrant Massey, adding a new twist to the highly anticipated project that promises elegance, humor and chemistry in equal measure.

As reported by Variety India, the makers had three contenders before finalizing Sini Shetty for the role. Interestingly, the original ‘Dostana’ featured Priyanka Chopra, who was also a beauty queen title holder. By casting another beauty queen in the sequel, the series appears to be carrying that legacy forward. Meanwhile, Shetty has also reportedly signed a small-budget thriller, though details about the project are still under wraps.

But it was canceled midway after Kartik’s sudden exit after nearly 20 days of shooting. Kartik and Gauhar’s feud made headlines at the time, though the two patched things up last year when they joined forces for ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’.
