The controversy surrounding the film ‘Peddi’ has taken a new turn after Janhvi Kapoor’s fan clubs shared screenshots of what they claim are private conversations between the actor and fans.
The alleged chats, which surfaced online soon after director Buchi Babu Sanna issued an apology for criticizing the film’s depiction of women, suggest that Janhvi may have expressed her concerns about certain scenes during the production phase itself. For those who don’t know, ‘Peddi’ faced severe backlash after its release due to his portrayal of Jhanvi’s character. Now according to these leaked chats, Jhanvi was against the camera angles and even Ram Charan supported the actress and said no to taking such angles. The screenshots, which were widely circulated across social media platforms, appear to show the actress objecting to certain camera angles used while filming sequences involving her character, Achiyama. In one of the most discussed messages, allegedly sent on October 30, Janhvi reportedly wrote: “I told him no shots to waist (sic).”
Another message that attracted much attention suggested that co-star Ram Charan supported her objections.
As per the screenshots, Janhvi wrote, “Ram sir is very nice. He also shouted at him and said ‘You will never take such angles from her again’. So he got upset (sic).”The alleged conversation suggests that concerns over her character’s visual treatment may have been raised internally during filming, with the messages apparently referring to discussions involving director Buchi Babu Sanna.In a separate exchange, Janhvi allegedly hinted that such experiences were not uncommon in the industry.
According to the leaked screenshots, she wrote: “This keeps happening in the South.”The discussion reportedly continued when fans made comparisons to the criticism surrounding Kiara Advani’s portrayal in ‘Game Changer’. Reacting to the comparison, Janhvi allegedly said: “No, in this what they were taking was worse. But Ram sir said no way, stop (sic).”The screenshots also appear to address issues of consent and an actor’s ability to influence creative decisions.
In one message, Janhvi reportedly expressed her frustration at trying to express her discomfort, writing: “You have no idea what I was dealing with. I’m trying to make them understand.”Another part of the alleged conversation referred to the parents’ presence on movie sets. Janhvi reportedly mentioned actress Srileela and suggested that if her father, producer Boney Kapoor, intervened on her behalf, the situation could become “extreme”.Among the messages circulating online, one of the most emotional seems to show the actor’s exhaustion with the situation. According to the screenshots, she wrote: “No more movies.
