With limited pre-sales in the US quietly opening towards the end of February, Dhurandhar: The Revenge and Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups entered the first round of competition – and was the early advantage for Dhurandhar 2.The spy thriller sequel, directed by Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, has generated $33,723 in advance sales in the US as of March 1, according to Scanlic. The film sold 1,953 tickets in 209 showings in 151 theaters, according to trade data. The number of offers is expected to increase further as the release week approaches.The first part emerged as a juggernaut globally, grossing over Rs 1,300 crore worldwide and grossing $21 million in the US and Canada alone.
The sequel was filmed simultaneously with the original film, and was spun off as a sequel months before the first film’s release – a strategy that now appears to be paying off in anticipation levels.

Toxic has yet to roll out its full slate in North America, and the number of screens will likely expand significantly in the coming days.Yash’s last release, KGF: Chapter 2, grossed just under $7 million in North America. Since then, his national appeal has grown, adding unpredictability to the March 19 showdown.

Madhavan and Sanjay Dutt, among others, set against the backdrop of the Pakistani film Lyari.Meanwhile, Toxic promises a violent and stylized action scene, with Yash said to be playing multiple roles. The film also stars Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi and Rukmini Vasanth. Right now, the outside numbers point to an early advantage for Ranveer Singh. But with Indian bookings not yet open, and screening numbers continuing to evolve, this is only the first act in what promises to be a high-stakes duel at the box office.
