Dhyan Sreenivasan doesn’t want to be AMMA president but supports Shwetha Menon amid AMMA Row: ‘Leaving when problems arise is not the solution’

Actor Dhyan Srinivasan has clarified his stance on the ongoing discussions surrounding the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA). After recently stating that he was not interested in becoming president of the organisation, Dayan has now clarified his statements.

The representative said that leadership positions within AMMA cannot be changed overnight by public opinion. He also stressed that current office holders should focus on resolving existing issues rather than stepping down midway through their term. Dayan also said that he personally hopes that Shwetha Menon, the current AMMA president, completes her full three-year term.

Dhiyan Srinivasan says there is a proper process

As reported by Asianet News, speaking to the media about how his name came up in discussions regarding the presidency of AMMA, Dayan said: “AMMA is an organization that my father had a deep emotional connection with.

I’ve only been a member for a few years. When Eka’s friend became president, she attended an AMMA event for the first time. I have worked with and have close relationships with many members of the organization.

But there is a difference between personal relationships with members and the organization itself. Naturally, when such issues arise within an organization, we also feel sad. Many people propose different solutions, and different groups express different opinions.

Some people mentioned my name, and younger members like Aju too. That’s all it is.”He further said: “Becoming president is not as simple as people saying my name. There is a proper process. I cannot decide today and become president tomorrow. At present, there is already an elected president whose term has not expired. His term is three years.”Dayan explained that the mention of his name by some members should not be interpreted as an indication of his intention to compete for the position.

Dhiyan Srinivasan says leaving when problems arise is not the solution

The actor also shared his views on how the current leadership is responding to the challenges facing the organization. He said: “Leaving when problems arise is not the solution. The correct approach is to resolve the issues and complete the period correctly. Only after that should we think about what comes next. My personal opinion does not matter here. What is important is whether the administration has failed in its responsibilities.”

Personal issues come second. Did they distribute pensions on time? Do you keep paying them every month? Did they provide assistance to Sanjivani? Did they provide insurance? If all these welfare measures continue without interruption, I think the present Committee should continue. The organization exists for the welfare of its members. If there is any failure in those responsibilities, people can question it.

Personal conflicts are a separate matter. These cases are already before the courts. However, if the public body no longer trusts the current committee, it may have to step down.”According to Diane, the performance of the committee should be judged primarily on whether it has continued the social welfare activities intended for AMMA members.Diane also spoke in support of Shwetha Menon, saying that she entered office with the aim of bringing about positive changes. He said: “Personally, I think Shwetha Chechi came with a sincere desire to bring about many positive changes. The fact that a woman became president was in itself a historical development. She really wanted to do a lot of good things. If there is no failure in the welfare activities I mentioned earlier, then the issues among members should be resolved through discussion. Unfortunately, the matter has escalated into legal issues and disagreements.”

Let them deal with these issues.”“If Shwetha Shishi is still ready to continue working in the organization, she should remain in office. A new committee will come after the end of the three-year term. Interestingly, many people who elected the current committee are now opposing it. Whatever decision the general body takes, we will support it. However, personally, I want Shwetha Shishi to complete her full term.”

“I entered this role with genuine intentions of doing good for the organization,” Diane added.

The focus should remain on the well-being of members

Dayan stressed that the organization should be evaluated based on its effectiveness in continuing social welfare initiatives such as pensions, financial assistance and insurance plans. While acknowledging the controversies surrounding the association, the actor said these issues must be resolved through proper channels. He stressed that the General Assembly will have the final say on the future of the current leadership. For now, Dayan has distanced himself from speculation about him assuming the presidency of AMMA. On the work front, Dhyan Sreenivasan’s previous hit song was ‘Detective Ujjwalan’.
