According to the latest reports from the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the popular TV series “Death in Paradise” has been officially renewed for two more seasons. It started airing earlier in 2011 and ran for over 15 seasons. According to reports, filming for the new seasons has already begun in Guadeloupe as of this week. The group will return to St. Mary’s for at least two more seasons, bringing the show to 17 seasons.

The show currently features Danny June Jules, Kris Marshall, Sarah Martinez, Ben Miller, Gary Carr, Dawn Warrington, Josephine Joubert, Elizabeth Burgin, Tobi Bakare, Shantol Jackson, and many more. Speaking about the renewal, Drama Director Lindsay Salt said the show would return for “two more sun-kissed series and two Christmas specials.
She also praised the show and called it a global phenomenon. Tim Kelly, another big name behind the development of the show, also spoke about the same and mentioned that with the filming underway, they have “something very special gearing up to kick off its 16th season.”

The British-French crime comedy-drama follows the premise of a London-based detective being reassigned to the small, fictional town of Sainte-Marie. By mixing comedy with murder mysteries and ‘crimes’, the show became very popular among audiences. The news of the renewal has delighted many fans.
