Cheryl Hines says Chelsea Handler’s complaints about her “toxic” home have no real basis and, if anything, she’s been painted as the bad guy.

the Curb your enthusiasm The star broke her silence on Handler’s viral comments accusing the actress and her husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., of selling her a $6 million mansion five years ago that required an endless series of repairs.

Quick backstory: Handler said it recently Dear Chelsea podcast that she bought a house in Los Angeles in a blind trust — so she didn’t know who the owner was — from Hines and RFK Jr. She says Hines left her a note after she moved in urging her to call if she needed anything. Handler said she quickly discovered a slew of problems in the “toxic” home (“When [the inspectors] When they opened the house, they would say, “This house is the most toxic environment.” “You can’t live here for at least two years.” “I’m not exaggerating,” she said. “It was a disaster.”

But Hines said she wasn’t aware of any problems at the home, which is why she left the note for Handler. Hines also suggested that Handler is just seeking sympathy and attention — especially given RFK Jr.’s current notoriety as President Trump’s controversial Department of Health and Human Services head — and that Hines’ claims don’t “really hold water” (kind of like the foundation of a house, apparently).

“I guess yeah, you have to question the timing of that, don’t you?” OutKick’s Hines said Tommy Lahren is fearless Podcast. “Because she bought this house five years ago and now she’s complaining about it, and that too… She’s getting a lot of sympathy from people. She’s buying a $6 million house and she’s talking about how she felt cheated and that we tried to sell her a house that was, in her word, ‘toxic’ — which also doesn’t make sense. The story doesn’t really hold water because I wrote her a personal note when I moved in, saying how much we loved the house and that I hoped she would too.” He has a beautiful life in this house and if you need anything [to] Call me. I left my number. So if we were trying to unload Sam’s house on her, I wouldn’t have left my number. I think she’s just trying to get attention and it might be fun for her to make fun of Bobby. what are you going to do?”

Handler previously said of the note: “And they had the audacity to leave me a message! Cheryl Hines left me a note that said, ‘Let us know if there’s anything we can do for you, Chelsea.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, what about the damn foundation?’ That’s something you can do for me.”

Previously, a source close to the situation said Handler had every opportunity to inspect the home before the sale and that the responsibility for finding any related issues ultimately fell to the inspector and buyer.
