Charlize Theron criticizes Timothée Chalamet for his comments on ballet and opera, describing his statements as

In a recent exchange of thoughts, Charlize Theron took issue with Timothée Chalamet’s dismissive comments about ballet and opera, calling them “irresponsible.” With her extensive background in dance, Theron emphasizes the rigorous training and unwavering dedication required to excel in these art forms.

Nearly two months after Timothée Chalamet commented on ballet and opera, Atomic Blonde actress Charlize Theron has weighed in on the controversy. The actress expressed her strong disagreement with the “Marty Supreme” star.

While speaking to The New York Times, Theron discussed the physical and mental demands of dancing while discussing her own experience. The Mad Max: Fury Road star said: “Dancing is probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Dancers are superheroes. What they put their bodies through is complete silence,” prompting the reporter to joke: “Sorry, Timothée Chalamet.”“Oh, boy, I hope to meet him one day,” Theron replied. “This was a very reckless commentary on an art form, two art forms that we need to constantly lift up because, yes, they are having a hard time.”

However, she added: “In 10 years, AI will be able to do Timothy’s work, but it won’t be able to replace a person on stage dancing live. We shouldn’t have sex with other art forms.”

Charlize Theron reflects on what dancing has taught her

Theron went on to explain how dancing influenced her artistic sensibilities and work ethic. “Dancing taught me discipline,” she said. “You taught me structure. You taught me hard work. You taught me to be tough. It’s an abuse of boundaries. There were a few times I got blood infections from blisters that never healed.”

And you don’t get a day off.”She continued, “I’m literally talking about bleeding through your shoes. That’s something you have to practice every day, the mindset of, ‘Don’t give up, there’s no other choice, keep moving forward.’

The ballet and opera controversy surrounding Timothée Chalamet

Chalamet sparked controversy in February after the “Dune” star commented on the ballet and opera communities. During a conversation with Matthew McConaughey as part of a CNN and Variety Town Hall, Chalamet said, “I don’t want to do ballet or opera, or, you know, things like, ‘Hey, keep this thing alive,’ even though no one cares about that anymore.”Meanwhile, Alex Bird, chief executive of the Royal Ballet and Opera, revealed earlier this week that Chalamet’s exclusion of art forms actually gave the institution an “immediate boost” in ticket sales.
