Paramount revealed footage at CinemaCon from the David Ayer film about a former soldier and his fighting dog.

Brad Pitt Heart of the beast The trailer got pulses racing at CinemaCon.
Paramount Pictures is set to release the David Ayer-directed film in theaters, and the first trailer also debuted at the Las Vegas event. JK Simmons and Anna Lambe complete the cast.
Heart of the beast The film revolves around a former Army Special Forces soldier (Pete), who fights for his life with his combat dog after a plane crashes, leaving them stranded in the Alaskan wilderness. Ayer directed the project from a screenplay by Cameron Alexander.
The trailer focuses on the relationship between Pete and his dog. “I’ll get you home,” Pete assures the dog after their plane crashes. “We’ll just have to do it the hard way.”
This footage also teases a scary moment when Pete and his dog cross the river, and Pete’s efforts to stop his dog from falling result in him ending up in the water. Other moments involve the couple encountering wild animals.
“One last mission,” Pete says. “I won’t let you die here.”
Producers include Damien Chazelle and Olivia Hamilton for the Wild Chickens Productions banner through her first deal with Paramount. Temple Hill Entertainment, Ayer for Crave Films and Pitt for Plan B are also producing. Richard Raymond serves as associate producer.
Ayer most recently drove Jason Statham’s car last year Working man Pitt previously directed in 2014 anger. Its other features include Suicide squad, shining and beekeeper.
Pitt helmed the 2025 film Race, directed by Joseph Kosinski F1 which received four Academy Award nominations and also starred Damson Idris, Kerry Condon and Javier Bardem. Pitt’s other recent credits include Wolves In addition to the movie George Clooney and Chazelle 2022, Babylon.
CinemaCon is the annual event for Hollywood exhibitors and studios that takes place this year from April 13-16. It’s the official convention of Cinema United.
