Bob’s Burger Star Eugene Merman is facing “serious injuries” following a car accident Tuesday in New Hampshire.

On Tuesday, a 2026 Lucid Gravity crashed at the Bedford Toll Plaza, and Merman was later identified as the driver of the vehicle, according to a New Hampshire Police news release. The accident was described as a single-vehicle collision.

A veteran state trooper assigned to Gov. Kelly Ayotte’s security detail responded to the crash and noticed the vehicle was on fire and a passenger was still inside. Merman was pulled from the car while it was burning through the window, with Governor Ayotte and other witnesses at the scene assisting the trooper.

Merman, 51, was taken to a nearby hospital with “serious injuries.” The press release notes that no charges have been filed at this time, although all aspects of the incident are under investigation.

A rep for Merman shared a statement with Hollywood Reporterwhich reads, “Eugene was involved in a very scary car accident. He wants to thank the bystanders, state police, first responders and hospital staff who saved him. He is grateful that he is recovering. At this time, we ask for privacy for Eugene and his family while he focuses on recovering from his injuries.”

“It is certain that their actions were heroic in what they did,” Colonel Mark B. Hall said in a statement to those who helped Merman after the incident. “Without hesitation, they put themselves in danger to provide assistance to someone who needed it.”
