Billy Ray Cyrus has stayed mostly quiet about his private life over the past couple of years. However, in a recent interview, the famous country singer spoke about how he once had to face a major health crisis.

Not only that, he detailed how his daughter, Noah Cyrus, was helping him a lot at the time.

Billy Ray Cyrus speaks out about the health crisis

The 64-year-old recently sat down for a chat with PEOPLE magazine, where he revealed that he once suffered from a serious case of sepsis. He explained in detail how the disease caused him many other problems, including inflammation in his entire body. “I don’t know exactly how it developed,” he began, “It was my worst nightmare.”

Two years before that, my mother died in that hospital, on the same floor as me.

He added: “I got really sick and almost died, and while I was trying to survive, they sometimes sent me home from the hospital…” He also noted that at some point he developed vocal paralysis. He added: “But my body was exploding [with] Toxicity of some kind. If it had broken out, I would have died. At the last moment, my prayer was answered.”

He later recalled that he experienced a miracle in his treatment after his doctors told him he was improving. “They were going to do one last surgery. I got to the hospital,” he shared [and] They said: Mr. Cyrus, he’s gone. He has been cured. “I had a miracle.”

Furthermore, he explained in the interview that one of the reasons he believes his condition has improved is because of his 26-year-old daughter, Noah Cyrus. “Noah’s got this song that honestly saved my life, and it’s called ‘Don’t Put It All On Me,’” he joked.He also shared that his grandson Bear was also a big inspiration behind the improvement. “At this very broken moment in my life, my little grandson Bear [son of Braison Cyrus] “He looked at me and said, ‘Try again.’ Up until that point, he had never spoken to me,” Cyrus recalls. I wasn’t even sure if he knew my name. At that moment I thought: “He’s telling you something.” Is it about love? music? Somehow, I have to try again at both.

“So, I’m learning to try again,” he added.

What is sepsis?

According to the Cleveland Clinic, sepsis is “a life-threatening reaction to an infection that causes the immune system to damage healthy tissues and organs. It can develop rapidly and lead to organ failure or death without prompt care. Recognizing the symptoms and getting medical help right away can save your life.”On the work front, Billy Ray Cyrus is gearing up to release his upcoming album, “The Hills,” on June 16.
