The mortal remains of legendary director Bharathiraja were brought to his hometown in Theni on Thursday morning. Family, friends, industry colleagues and fans gathered to pay their last respects to the iconic director.Arrangements have been made for residents of Theni and surrounding areas to pay their respects before the final rites. The funeral is scheduled to be held in his hometown around 3 p.m., according to Cinema Express.The veteran director passed away in Chennai after suffering from health issues.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay visited the late director’s residence soon after the news of his death emerged.
The Prime Minister paid his respects by paying floral tributes in front of Bharathiraja’s mortal remains.
