Badshah An apology video is released
In a video shared on his Instagram account, Badshah addressed the backlash and said that he never meant to hurt anyone’s sentiments.“My new song ‘Tateeree’ has been released. I see that the sentiments of many people in Haryana have been hurt due to the lyrics part and visual representation in the song,” he said.Emphasizing his roots, the rapper added: “I want to say that I am from Haryana. Those who know me – my language, my food, my lifestyle – my identity is from Haryana. I am a proud Haryanvi.”Badshah further explained that the tone of the song comes from the competitive culture of hip-hop. “I never intended to say anything objectionable against any woman or child from Haryana. I am in the genre of hip-hop where lyrics often come across as looking down on competitors.
This is never for any woman or child.He concluded the video with an apology, saying, “I have always tried to take Haryanvi language and culture to new heights. But if anyone is hurt, I demand an apology. I expect you to forgive me as a son of Haryana.”
An FIR has been lodged, and the police spring into action
According to Haryana Police, a complaint filed by a Panchkula resident led to the registration of an FIR over alleged objectionable content in the music video.Sections 3 and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986 and Section 296 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (obscene acts and songs) have been invoked against the singer, the police said.Authorities said multiple police teams have been formed and raids are being conducted at various locations. An official notice was also issued directing the rapper to appear before the police.“Taking a strict stand against the spread of objectionable content on social media and in songs, Haryana Police has initiated major action against singer Aditya Pratik Singh Sisodia, popularly known as Badshah,” the police said in a statement.Given the possibility that the accused may attempt to leave the country, the process of issuing a surveillance bulletin has also begun.

Objections to images involving schoolgirls
Police said the video shows underage girls wearing school uniforms, carrying their bags and appearing to be running away from school.“It was also found that the use of words like ‘Badshala’ in the song portrays the school environment and education in a misleading and inappropriate way.
Furthermore, hateful and degrading expressions towards women and girls have also been identified in the lyrics.The authorities also issued notices demanding the video be removed from social media platforms.The police also warned that anyone who creates or shares videos or clips using the controversial song could face strict legal action.The issue also caught the attention of the Haryana State Commission for Women, which issued summons to the rapper.Meanwhile, Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda condemned the depiction of schoolgirls in the video, saying that the way culture and students were portrayed in the song was unacceptable.
