Sweeney, Lisa, Carmelo Anthony, Trixie Mattel, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert.

The awards, run by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, recognize and celebrate online excellence[e] The creators, companies, platforms and personalities shaping today’s cultural and technological landscape.
This year, Webbys has expanded many of its categories, adding additional awards in the areas of artificial intelligence, creatives, podcasting and social media. The AI categories have been expanded to include “tools, applications and innovations that set new standards”, while a range of new awards highlighting “the work of creatives” aim to honor “the creatives who build the brands, businesses and communities that shape today’s digital landscape”. Podcast categories include new awards such as Best New Podcast, Best Video Podcast, and Best Video Podcast Host, while the Social Media Group has added new categories such as Best Social Video Series – Long Form Social Honors and Best Community Experience Gaming Honors.
“The Webby Awards’ 30-year legacy reflects how the Internet continues to expand the ways we create, communicate and express ourselves,” said Jesse Pfister, CEO of Webby Media Group. “Every wave of technology reshapes our lives and the standards of what great online work looks like. From the birth of eBay to the advent of TikTok, the Webbys have defined excellence in those moments. This year, by recognizing the new frontiers in AI and creatives, we continue to support the kinds of creativity that challenge our conventions.”
Organizers said they received more than 13,000 entries from more than 70 countries. Less than 17 percent of applications submitted were named as nominees. The organizations with the most names include: Google (46), PBS (29), Apple (23), The Walt Disney Company (23), NBCUniversal (22) and Netflix (22).
The Webbys are also handing out awards for Podcast Company of the Year, Media Company of the Year and Brand of the Year to the groups that received the most recognition across the relevant categories. Organizations competing for the podcast award include iHeartMedia (16 names), Audible (10 names), SiriusXM (six names), Wondery (six names) and Audacy (five names). Media Company of the Year finalists include PBS (29), The Walt Disney Company (23), NBCUniversal (22), Netflix (22), National Geographic (20), and Warner Bros. (20). Discovery (19). Competing brands include Google (46), Apple (23), Amazon (13), Sony (16), Microsoft (10), Nike (eight), and Marriott International (six).
All nominees are eligible to win two awards: the Webby Award, chosen by the Academy, and the Webby People’s Voice Award, voted on by the online community. Voting for the People’s Voice Awards is open until April 16 at vote.webyawards.com.
Winners will be announced on April 21, and will be honored on May 11 at a special 30th anniversary awards ceremony hosted by the Emmy-nominated comedian and actor. Daily show Reporter Josh Johnson in New York City. The ceremony is known for requiring winners to give speeches no more than five words long.
