Disney Branded Television has a new executive in charge of physical production.

The company has appointed Attia Henry as executive vice president of production for the kids and family-focused unit, which is behind shows and films including grandchildren Franchise and Phineas and Ferb. She will report to Carol Turner, President of Production, Disney Entertainment Television, and will become part of the executive team of Disney Branded TV President Ayo Davis.

“Attiya is an extremely accomplished production executive who knows how to bring ambitious storytelling to life,” Davis and Turner said in a statement. “Her experience across a broad range of genres and collaborative leadership style make her an ideal partner for our teams, production and creative partners as we continue to build the industry’s most ambitious slate for kids and families.”

Henry comes to Disney from Netflix, where she spent seven years in physical production of series ranging from Firefly Lin To the next streamer Little house on the meadow Reboot. In her new role, she will head up all aspects of physical production for Disney Branded TV’s live-action and animated programming for Disney+, Disney Channel and Disney Jr., and will work with creative and business teams through the development, filming and production support process in new formats.

“Disney has played an important role in shaping many of the most iconic stories for children and families around the world, and it is truly an honor to join a team that defines the space for generations to come,” Henry said. “I’m excited to partner with Ayo, Carol, and the talented Disney Branded Television team to help deliver stories that audiences will grow up with and carry with them for years to come.”

Prior to her work at Netflix, Henry spent time at Annapurna Pictures and BET Networks. She began her career in the non-profit sector.
