'At least he is himself': Varun Dhawan opens up about stardom and praises Salman Khan for keeping it real

Varun Dhawan spoke about the loneliness that comes with fame, saying that most actors suffer from it despite their glamorous image. He credited Salman Khan’s late-night unfiltered Instagram posts as an example of authenticity, adding that staying true to yourself is essential, otherwise you won’t realize what you have become.

Varun Dhawan spoke candidly about the difficulties that come with fame, saying that many actors feel lonely despite their public image. He also stressed the importance of being yourself and pointed to Salman Khan’s social media posts as a good example of someone keeping it real with his fans.

In a conversation with Bombay Times, Varun didn’t hold back when he talked about the emotional side of being an actor. “Actors’ lives are very lonely. Ninety percent of actors feel very lonely,” Varun said. But instead of letting this loneliness push him into creating a polished, carefully constructed public persona, he chose to go the other way. He said that ever since he stepped into the limelight with Karan Johar’s 2012 drama Student of the Year, he has made a conscious choice to simply be himself.

“Fortunately, from the beginning, I have brought down the facade. What’s Varun there, Varun is here too. I don’t like it. Your back has to be straight all the time. I try not to do that. My mental health will fluctuate. I can’t pretend because somewhere, (the bubble) will burst.”

The actor also looked back on his earlier days in the industry, recalling how he was more outspoken and outspoken back then. “If you see my previous interviews, I was mohavat and aur bhi pakwas karta tha mein.

He concluded his thoughts with a simple but heartfelt message about staying true to oneself. He added: “You have to be yourself, whether it’s good or bad, but at least you’ll be yourself. Otherwise you won’t even realize what you’ve become.”
