Ariana Grande opened her Eternal Sunshine Tour on Saturday night in Oakland, California.
The Grammy winner’s tour marks her first tour in seven years. Her last tour ended in December 2019, which supported her Dessert and Thank you, next Albums. This time, Grande is performing tracks from her seventh album, released in 2024, eternal sunshine, Along with some of her other fan-favorite songs over the years. (See the full set list below.)
On Saturday morning, Grande took to social media to thank fans for welcoming her back to the stage.
“Auckland, first night… ♡ It seems impossible to find the words at this time… so for now, just thank you. From the bottom of my heart,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “I love you all more than words can say. And I’ve missed you. Thank you.”
Remaining locations for the Eternal Sunshine tour include Los Angeles, Austin, Brooklyn, Chicago, Boston, Montreal and Sunrise, Florida, as well as a five-night tour in London.
Grande’s hiatus from live performing comes as the 32-year-old turns to acting, where she stars in the Jon M. Chu film. evil (2024), which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress, as well as last year’s follow-up, Evil: for good. Her upcoming projects include: focker in law, Opposite Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro, Oh, the places you’ll go! Feature animated adaptation with Josh Gad and Season 13 from Ryan Murphy American Horror Story.
The “God Is a Woman” singer is also scheduled to release her eighth album, Petalon July 31.
But even though she’s still making music, she told Amy Poehler about it Good comment podcast in November that she doesn’t expect to be touring for a very long time long Time after the Eternal Sunshine tour.
“I think the last 10 to 15 years are going to look very different from the years ahead,” Grande said. “I don’t want to say any final things. I know I’m very excited to do this little tour, but I think it may not happen again for a very long time. It’s going to be beautiful and I’m very grateful for that – I think that’s why I’m doing it because I’m like, ‘One last hurray’ for now.”
