Ari Emanuel’s live events company Mari Group is reportedly in talks to acquire major theater owner ATG Entertainment.

According to a report in Financial TimesThe Mari Group is in advanced talks with private equity firm Providence, which owns ATG, to acquire the theater group. The newspaper estimates the total size of the deal at $6 billion, citing four people familiar with the matter, with the hope of closing the deal within the next month.

Representatives for Marie, Providence and ATG did not respond to requests for comment.

ATG has 10 theaters in the West End, including the Lyceum, home to long-running hits The lion king and the Savoy Theatre, where it was a box office hit Paddington the musical He plays. It owns seven Broadway theatres, after acquiring a majority stake in Googamcin Theaters in 2023, in addition to the Lyric Theater, which is home to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. The theater group, which also has a production arm, has been owned by private equity firm Providence since 2013.

The Mari Group already has a presence in the theater world, having acquired ticketing company TodayTix in October 2025, just weeks after launching its company. The portfolio also includes the Miami Open, Madrid Open, Frieze Art Galleries and auto auction firm Barrett-Jackson. Emanuel is also CEO of TKO, home of WWE and UFC, and CEO of WME Group.
