Theron and Kormakur are set to reunite six clean kills, An action thriller film set at Universal Pictures. Kormákur is set to direct and produce the feature project while Theron is also on board to produce with an eye on stardom.
Details are being kept in Body Bag but the screenplay is being written by Stan Parrish based on his as-yet-unpublished novel.
The unveiling of the new collaboration comes on the heels of the muscular display summita survival adventure thriller that delivered strong ratings and stronger viewing numbers for Netflix after arriving on the streamer on April 24. Taron Egerton also stars in the feature, which has already seen viewing numbers rise in its second week.
Theron will produce through her secret slate first-look deal with Universal Pictures alongside AJ Dix and Beth Kono. Kormákur will produce through his Blueeyes Productions. Parish will executive produce.
The project began coming together last year, after the two completed the arduous but straightforward production process summit.
Theron is part of the Universal family, thanks to his appearances in three of the studio’s signatures Fast and furious films.
Kormákur is an Icelandic director who has previously directed 101 Reykjavik, Gar City and Evereststories set against harsh backgrounds with themes of survival and emotional extremes. He has previously worked with Universal on A monstera survival drama that saw Idris Elba face off against a deadly lion.
Kormákur is repped by CAA and Range Media Partners. Theron is repped by CAA and Hansen Jacobson. Parrish is repped by CAA, The Book Group, and Jackoway Austen.
