Fox has begun strengthening its lineup for the 2026-27 season.

The network has revamped its workplace comedy Animal controlStarring Joel McHale for season five. The pick-up is the first of its kind for a live-action scripted show on Fox this season, though many of its animated shows are all in the midst of multi-year orders.

Renewal for Animal control It comes on the heels of the show setting an NFL-assisted series high in total viewers and adults 18-49 in late December. The current season of the show is streaming on Hulu, and past seasons have been on Netflix for the past two months, where they have accumulated nearly a billion minutes of viewing time.

“With the writing, the set, and the audience response, everything sinks to new levels and is refreshed Animal control “It was an easy decision. The series has rocketed to new heights in its fourth season, and is a direct reflection of the series’ continued creative growth, outstanding production team, and amazing Joel McHale as our lead,” said Fox Television Network President Michael Thorne.

Next to McHale Animal control Stars Michael Rowland, Villa Lovell, Ravi Patel and Grace Palmer as a group of animal control officers who are good with the creatures they encounter but less comfortable with other humans.

The series is produced locally by Fox Entertainment Studios. Executive producers are Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg, Dan Sterling, showrunner Tad Coyle, and McHale.
