AMC Theaters CEO Adam Aron inadvertently broke the omerta around the Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce wedding after posting — and then deleting — a long, detailed account of what happened at Madison Square Garden on July 3 that had the world’s media scrambling for crumbs of information.
“It was such an honor to be there,” began Aaron’s lengthy post on X, which was screenshotted by multiple users before being deleted from his account. “I’ve been in Taylor Swift’s orbit since AMC first took her on Tour of the ages The film is set to hit theaters worldwide in 2023, and ironically, with AMC headquartered in Kansas City, home of the Chiefs, I saw early on that true romance was at hand.
Aaron then goes on to describe the MSG transformation at the wedding. “Once inside, everything…the floors, the walls, the ceilings…was covered in peach and white. Large, blow-up pictures of Taylor and Travis at every age, year after year, from one year old to their late teens, were on display,” the executive said.
He added: “A small portion of MSG was cordoned off, devoid of any notion that a basketball or hockey game was ever sharing that space. Somehow, magically, someone had created an outdoor garden in a lush country resort. Everything was green and white this time. I think real flowers and artificial trees greeted fifteen rows of maybe 75 chairs or so. They say there were about a thousand in attendance, but surprisingly everything seemed intimate and small. Everything was close together.”
Aaron, who seemed aware of the great interest in what the bride and groom would wear, wrote, “The wedding started with a few violins and cellos. Leading the way were the handsome Travis in a white suit, and the stunning Taylor in a stunning white wedding dress with a long, veiled train.” like Hollywood Reporter The prediction came true before the wedding, as Swift wore a Dior Haute Couture dress designed by Jonathan Anderson.
Aaron described parts of the ceremony itself, including the vows supervised by the “officiant.” “One of the officiants talked, sang, and talked. He was warm, welcoming, funny, and eloquent,” Aaron wrote, though he did not specify that Adam Sandler officiated the wedding, which is a bit odd to comment on since they both work in the film industry.
Of the couple’s vows, Aaron wrote that they were “long, entertaining, personal, charming, emotional, irreverent, and endearing explorations by each of them into how they met, why they want to be with each other forever, and the promises they made in joining their entire beloved families (Kelsey and Swift’s) as one, and committing to their new shared life together.”
Aaron wrote that there was “music, music, music” at the event, which again is not surprising given Swift’s world, though he did not specify which acts performed. On Saturday’s episode of Good morning Americaco-host Robin Roberts confirmed that Stevie Nicks performed at the concert.
Aside from Aaron’s now-deleted message, there have yet to be any significant inside accounts of the wedding, which is pretty remarkable considering the 1,000-person guest list. Attendees at the event, arguably the most high-profile celebrity wedding of the decade, were reportedly forced to sign non-disclosure agreements attached to the invitations.
It’s not clear why Aaron deleted his post on X, but non-disclosure agreements and a desire to remain within Swift’s “orbit” may have caused him to downplay his memories of the event. However, future historians of celebrity culture and tabloid editors around the world will thank him for providing invaluable insight into wedding (Taylor version).
