Actor and comedian Alex Dong, known for his appearance in the film Blue Bloods, has died after a courageous battle with a rare form of cancer. He was 42 years old.Dong died at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California, US Daily reported.
The actor reportedly died after going into septic shock the day before.
He took his last breath surrounded by his family and friends.

According to the report, in 2025 Alex was diagnosed with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, an aggressive cancer that affects soft tissues. This reportedly led to serious complications, including a malignant mass that affected his optic nerve.News confirming his death was announced on a fundraising website, organized to support his wife Christina and their five-year-old daughter Everest.
“We are overwhelmed with gratitude – thanks to you, we have already reached the original goal. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,” the emotional message read.
Alex Duong’s family is asking for financial support
“At the same time, with Alex’s death, Christina’s situation has become more dire and the financial needs ahead are much greater than we had anticipated. Alex’s memorial service, Everest’s educational needs, ongoing care, daily support, and what lies ahead for his family means we must continue to raise funds beyond this initial goal,” she continued.
Reaching out for further support, the note said: “If you have already given, thank you – truly. If you are able to participate or contribute again, it means everything right now. Please keep Alex and his family in your prayers. Your support is carrying them through the most difficult time of their lives. We will keep you updated as to the details of his ‘Celebration of Life.’
