‘Dhurandhar 2’ was released in theaters on March 19, and since then, the internet can’t stop talking about the film. While most people loved it, others criticized it and claimed it was a “propaganda” film.
Not to mention, Aditya Dhar’s ‘peak details’ memes have gone viral, along with netizens capturing little moments from the film about each character. Amidst all the love, accolades and huge numbers for the film, Dhar has been giving credit to each and every crew member every day on social media. On Friday, the director wrote a note about costume designer Smriti Chauhan. He shared some photos of BTS as well as details about making the costumes.
He shared some subtleties about Ranveer’s character and his transition from Jaskirat to Hamza and wrote, “Dear Smriti, I still remember one of our first conversations, when we talked about how Jaskirat starts with a touch of color and how, in the end, Hamza was almost swallowed up by black.
How color quietly leaves its life somewhere along the way without drawing attention to itself. At that point, it was just an idea, a little detailed, slightly crazy idea that I put to you.
And you just stuck with it. Then I knew 😊 Because while you kept saying “Sir, I don’t know if I’m the right person for this,” I was sitting there thinking, “This is exactly why you’re here.”

Aditya also added, “You didn’t come with baggage. You didn’t come with a fixed ‘style’ of what this world should look like. You came with honesty and that dangerous thing called ZIDD. And then you went and did what you do best, you over-delivered in the most ridiculous and unbelievable way.”Who stitches 10,000 costumes for a film and nearly 1,000 pathanis in the first 30 days and still worries about the details of the buttons on the palm of a novice artist? 😂 Who has done over 250 searches on Hamza and still gets upset about not knowing if the ring on their little finger is romantically correct?Who manages thousands of accessories over the course of 1.5 years of filming and still looks every day like it’s day one? Only you. The most helpful and generous human being on set.
Always there. Always giving. Always smile in the midst of chaos (even when I know some days you wanted to kill most of us 😄).What I built wasn’t just fashion. You’ve built a world. language. The identity that breathes through every frame of Dhurandhar. And the most beautiful part? He concluded by saying, “From a space that previously seemed unfamiliar, you created something so special that people are following your design patterns everywhere. This is not talent alone. This is courage. This is ZIDD. 🤩 I’m really grateful that I got to witness that journey up close. And I’m even more grateful that I got to be a part of this movie ❤️Love and Luck, forever! 🙏.”
