Here’s what he had to share.

Adam McKay says he would love to work with Will Ferrell again

While speaking with Business Insider, Adam McKay admitted that he misses working with Ferrell. When asked if he would like to work with him again, the director happily admitted that he had been open to the idea for some time.“We’ve always gotten along great, and we’ve been tremendous creative partners. The only thing that caused acrimony between us was when we decided to terminate our production company, Gary Sanchez.”

And I know it was reported one way or another, but that’s what really happened,” he admitted, also offering insight into why they stopped working together in the first place.“It’s unfortunate because we have a great creative partnership. I think we both underestimated the complexities that come with having not only a company, but a very successful company,” he added, adding that the two worked on a lot of projects under their company’s banner, and that they had a flow with each other.

Adam McKay shares that it’s no longer fun for Will Ferrell

MacKay revealed that Ferrell was never someone who wanted to produce full content, and after a while, it became too much work. He added, “I was really the one who wanted to produce, but the life of a movie star is very different from the life of a writer-director. So we parted ways. But life goes on. We’ve had a great ride. I definitely don’t have any hard feelings, and who knows, we’ll see what happens.” He also concluded by saying that the company was never something Ferrell was passionate about.
