With the Academy Awards two weeks away, Sunday’s 32nd Actor Awards will be the final showdown before the Oscars for “One Battle After Another” and “Sinners.” The newly renamed Actor Awards, formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards, is one of the most closely watched awards.

Actors make up the largest segment of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and their selections at the Actor Awards often coincide. The ceremony, presented by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, will be streamed live on Netflix starting at 8 p.m. EST. Kristen Bell hosts. Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” is a front-runner, having won the Golden Globes, BAFTAs and Producers Guild Awards on Saturday.

The film received a record seven nominations and is seen as the most likely winner of the grand prize that night and Best Ensemble. The other four nominees for best ensemble are: “Sinners,” “Hamnet,” “Marty Supreme,” and “Frankenstein.” If Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” upsets “One Battle After Another” on Sunday night, it will add a late dose of unpredictability to the Oscars. But many categories already feel up for grabs.

Timothée Chalamet, who last year won a Best Actor Guild Award for “A Complete Unknown,” was the front-runner for his performance in “Marty Supreme.” But surprise BAFTA winner Robert Aramayo showed just how difficult it can be to define a category. Other nominees are: Michael B. Jordan (“Sinners”), Leonardo DiCaprio (“One Battle After Another”), Ethan Hawke (“Blue Moon”), and Jesse Plemons (“Bugonia”).If Chalamet wins, he will be the first to win the award in consecutive years.Jessie Buckley is the favorite in the Best Actress category. The other nominees are: Chase Infinity for “Battle After Battle,” Rose Byrne for “If I Had Two Legs I’d Kick You,” Kate Hudson for “Song Song Blue” and Emma Stone for “Pogonia.”Supporter prizes are especially difficult to predict. Best Supporting Actress nominees are: Teyana Taylor for “One Battle After Another,” Wunmi Mosaku for “Sinners,” Ariana Grande for “Wicked: For Good,” Amy Madigan for “Weapons,” and Odessa Azion for “Marty Supreme.” The male nominees are: Sean Penn (“Battle After Battle”), Benicio del Toro (“Battle After Battle”), Myles Caton (“Sinners”), Jacob Elordi (“Frankenstein”) and Paul Mescal (“Hament”).In television, Netflix’s limited series “Adolescent,” medical drama “The Pitt” and Apple’s Hollywood satire “The Studio” are poised to repeat their Emmys success.Catherine O’Hara, who died suddenly last January, could win best actress in a comedy series for “The Studio.” Harrison Ford will receive the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award, which will be presented to him by Woody Harrelson.
