Aamir Khan dropped out of college after being expelled from class for wearing shorts when it was raining, recalls Vindu Dara Singh: 'We were scandalized'

It is known that Aamir Khan always follows his heart, when it comes to movies or his personal life. He is called a perfectionist and has his own style of work. But this is not something he achieved after his appearance and action.

It turns out he’s never been one to be afraid to do things his own way or break the rules. Actor Vindu Dara Singh, who was with Khan in college, recalled one such incident.Recalling his friendship with Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, Vindu shared an amusing story from his college days. He said Amer left everyone on campus by showing up to class in an outfit that was considered highly unconventional at the time.

He said in an interview with Kadak: “Amer and I were in the same college.

Once during rains, Aamir Khan came to college wearing shorts and flip flops. We were all horrified to see him like that. I asked him why he was wearing such clothes, and he said: “Every day we get wet because of the rain, so I decided to wear shorts today.” The entire college was shocked. When the teacher came to class, Amer asked: What are you wearing? Amer explained that he chose this outfit because of the rain, and after that he asked Amer to leave the classroom.

After that, Aamir left college permanently and started assisting Mansoor Ali Khan, after which he shot films and reached greater heights. While education is important, sometimes, a person reaches his destination faster after leaving education behind.Aamir, who studied at Narsi Monji College, completed his 12th grade education before deciding to pursue a career in filmmaking. But academics have never been his strongest area.

In an earlier interaction with IANS in 2009, the actor admitted that the school authorities often disciplined him for his lack of interest in studies.“When I was in school, kneeling in front of the principal’s desk was common. I was also caned several times. It’s strange that when you get hit, you don’t feel the pain right away, but after two seconds the pain appears very bad…it’s terrible. I was more interested in sports, and therefore I always forgot to do my homework.

Also, poor grades were causing me problems. I used to get scolded often.

The actor also spoke candidly about how his passion for theater gradually took him away from academics. “My education was only up to 12th standard because after that, I got into films. Even when I was in college in 11th and 12th standard, I rarely attended classes because I was always busy with drama. Because of this, I didn’t have a very swinging college life.”

But while filming 3 Idiots, I lived moments from a student’s life and enjoyed the way students behave.

On the work front, Aamir was last seen in Sitaare Zameen Par. Meanwhile, the actor was also in the news recently as he confirmed his third marriage. Aamir is all set to tie the knot with Gauri Spratt in an intimate marriage registered on July 5 in Mumbai.
