Jayasurya’s ‘Aadu 3’ is making a huge run in its second week, raking in a staggering Rs 36.55 crore in net earnings in India. The film, which brings back the beloved Shaji Baban and delves into the whimsical world of time travel along with a magic stone, is captivating viewers everywhere.
Aadu 3, starring Jayasurya, is maintaining a steady pace at the box office as it enters its second week. The film which marks the comeback of beloved Shaji Baban and his gang is showing consistency despite the usual dips on weekdays.As per Sacnilk reports, the comedy has collected Rs 36.55 crore in India network so far. India’s total GDP is Rs 42.26 lakh crore.
Daily collections show a gradual decline
The film saw an expected decline after the weekend. On day 6 (first Tuesday), the film earned Rs 2.59 crore. It then collected Rs 2.03 crore on the 7th day (1st Wednesday). The first week concluded with a total net collection of Rs 35.03 crore as per reports.Moving on to the second week, Day 8 (2nd Thursday) brought in Rs 1.52 crore.
This took the total net collection in India to Rs 36.55 lakh crore.
Shaji Baban returns with an imaginative touch
‘Aadu 3’, directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, takes the series in a new direction. The story follows Shaji Baban, played by Jayasuriya, and his gang when they are caught in a chaotic conspiracy. The story revolves around a mysterious “Stardust” stone that controls energy and also connects different timelines.The film moves between the present year 2026 and the historical setting of the 1750s.
In the past timeline, the characters appear as their historical counterparts. Shaji Baban is seen as the local king Padmanabha Thampuran. Overall, the concept is different from the other two parts in the franchise.
Prathichaya opens in a low tone
Meanwhile, ‘Prathichaya’, starring Nivin Pauly, received a modest response at the box office.According to Sakneelek, Prathichaya collected a net Rs 65 lakh on the opening day. India’s total output is Rs 75 lakh.
The global total also remains at Rs 75 lakh. The political thriller hit theaters recently but has not posed a strong challenge to Aadu 3 yet.Right now, ‘Aadu 3’ clearly has the edge. Its mix of humor, imagination, and familiar characters seems to work with audiences.
